LIFE IS GOOD: It's 2013 and i'm still alive

So 2013 is alive and well... and there doesn't seem to be any doomsday whatsoever.

Don't complain about my room. 

I actually created this post on late December (which is not that far from today). But after uploading the photos, i only had like 5 minutes left for writing some meaningless words here because my final papers were still waiting, and i didn't want to bet. So i left this post until today.

It's not even that cold. I only dressed to play my part as a college nerd.

Hotdogs.. When they're in socks, they just taste better.

First of all, happy new year. Guess those Mayans were wrong afterall (or maybe it's us. We humans have made a big fuss of it over the year and the Mayans were probably smoking and saying, "Those urban fools--they don't know we've been building some secret underground tunnel while they're busy praying for their lives because of our prophecy! Muahahaha!"). Uhm, anyway, i didn't feel anything really special this new year's eve. And it's because of...

My papers. OH HELL, this fifth term is the longest worst moment i've ever experienced in my whole college years (so far). Of course, like any other 20-something person who have their own ambitions and are too self-centered to give a damn about poor people on the street, i have other activities outside college and studying. Usually those activities are the ones who make me stressed out a little bit, and college for me is just like getting inside the "Istana Boneka" (The "Doll Castle". It's a castle-like building in Jakarta's own theme park Dunia Fantasi--or "Dufan", as we call it--where you get to sit on a flimsy boat that takes you go through some kind of a river and you get to see many kinds of awkward moving dolls. You know, much like the "Crate Adventure" in Universal Studios Singapore. What makes them different is the one in Singapore doesn't suck. But people usually visits the Istana Boneka anyway so they get to feel the air conditioner--i know i do).

But in fifth term? College is much much worse. Suddenly, you don't care about what you eat, you just make yourself alive and create those assignment papers like you're a toothpaste factory. Come to think of it, i guess i've made around 200 pages of papers in total, counting from the start until the end of the term. Oh my god, i could write a novel!

Actually, the paper-making part wasn't that bad. I mean, i can choose my own topic and i'm quite interested in those (so far i've made papers revolving around horror/slasher/sex films, ring-back tone phenomenon in Indonesia, drug-addicts, Wikipedia, and stuffs), and naturally i like writing. But the worst part is making those papers on Christmas and new year's eve--when everyone was having fun except me!

One of my professors writes in his Facebook profile that his occupation is "intellectual slave". Well, i couldn't agree more on that.

I thought putting lime in your water gives the same effect as coffee.

But no, it only makes you want to go the bathroom--if you know what i mean.

But it's all over now eventually. Last night was my last attempt to finish my last paper. So that means i've reached the end of the fifth term and am welcoming holiday. I have never ever been this happy on the first day of holiday doing nothing. Seriously, kids, when you have your holiday, you have your holiday. It's not gonna last forever. Trust me, i'm a grown-up.

Damn analysis. It's the hardest part!

So what's in for me this January? Well, for starters, i'm going to revamp a little bit of this blog. No, not the layout--don't get too excited--but the content. I won't tell you what it is, but you can expect more of "Indonesia" and "pop culture".

Jakarta Style Journal is also getting its own domain (woohoo!). BLANCTERIA is going to release a new collection anytime soon (probably around February). I've got some project and organizational work going on. I'm also installing back my Playstation 2 (yes, i play the console) and preparing myself to play Tony Hawk game series--marathon style. I'm also going to learn a bit of basic Japanese, as i'm going to Japan on February to attend a cultural exchange program (i just hope i won't say nasty words...). And basically i'm going to polish on my Pon Pon Pon dance moves.

Other than that, i'm going to watch The Simpsons back-to-back while eating chips.

If other people make their resolutions for 2013, i just hope that everything's gonna be OK (and sane).
And it will!
